Flight 68

Channa opened her eyes.  Smoke was beginning to fill the cabin.  She looked around.  Like her, there were others that were hanging from their seatbelts.  Below her were bodies piled on top of each other on the side of the airplane.  Some were passengers who hadn’t been belted in; some were the flight crew.  It was eerily silent until she heard the first “plop,” followed by another, and then more, and more were heard.  She looked around and realized it was the blood of the passengers beginning to drip from their bodies, hitting whatever was below them.  She tried to unbuckle her seatbelt, but it was jammed and wouldn’t open.  She reached down to her calf and pulled the pant leg of her slacks up.  As a Mossad agent, she was required to carry a knife strapped to her calf.  She pulled it out and began sawing away at the seatbelt.  When it finally gave, she fell down hard on top of some bodies that had been below her.  She was still holding the knife and pulled her pant leg up and put it back in its holder.  She struggled to get up and could see daylight over her right shoulder.  She took a step forward and a searing pain encompassed her ankle that was so severe, it dropped her to her knees.  She crawled toward the light, over the bodies, feeling for signs of life along the way.  There were none.

It seemed that the corruption in Washington had far-reaching tentacles.
